| Failure to Attend |
|
If you are unable to keep your appointment, please give us as much notice as possible so that we can offer the time slot to another patient on our waiting list.
“Failure to Attend” means any of the following: · not arriving for an appointment · arriving late for an appointment · not giving enough notice of not being able to attend*
*we generally require 24 hours notice of cancellation.
We have a very firm policy regarding non-attendance as surgery time is lost and could have been filled by other attending patients who could have had their treatment sooner.
NHS Appointments
Patients who fail to attend 2 NHS appointments are likely to not be offered any further NHS appointments, in line with NHS regulations. (Missed appointments do not have to be consecutive.) If there are extenuating circumstances, we may be able to allow one further opportunity to attend, however this is at the discretion of the Practice Manager.
Private Appointments
Patients who fail to attend for a Private Dental appointment may forego some or all of the cost of the appointment, in proportion to the length of their appointment and any laboratory fees incurred.
Patients who fail to attend their Hygienist appointment will forego the cost of that appointment.
If the missed appointment is for both NHS and Private treatment, the course of action will be at the discretion of the Practice Manager and is dependent upon the treatment that was due to take place and the length of the appointment. If you would like further information on any of the above, please contact us. |
