National Smile Month runs from 20th May – 20th June. At Halton House we are focusing on keeping children’s smiles healthy.
30% of children starting school already have decayed teeth, setting them up for discomfort and a bad relationship with dental care that can affect their whole lives.
We think that’s wrong.
There are lots of social and commercial pressures that make it hard to set your children up for a lifetime of good dental health and smiling confidence.
But is it really that important when they are so young? Aren’t baby teeth going to fall out anyway? Don’t forget: • Healthy baby teeth help guide permanent teeth into place. • Decay in baby teeth can affect the growth of adult teeth • Those baby teeth help speech development.
We know how hard it can be to get those teeth brushed – we’ve got two little girls ourselves – Esme and Megan. And over the next few weeks, we’ll be showing you some of the real life trials and tribulations, offering some tips and asking you for yours!
We are also running a children’s colouring competition – you can win a £20 Entertainer voucher and a chance to have a behind the scenes tour of our dental practice. Age groups 4 and under, 5-7, 8-9, 10-11. To download an entry sheet, please click here. Plus all young patients who have an appointment at the practice during Smile Month will receive a free Smile Month balloon or dental goody and all adults will receive a free mini toothpaste – ideal for holidays!
